Whatās Valor?
The Loomis Sayles Valor Employee Resource Group was founded in 2022 with the mission of supporting and connecting the firmās military veterans, family members and military supporters through community engagement, education and other resources.
The Valor summer internship program, which is sponsored by the Valor ERG, is offered to college undergraduates and focuses on a combination of work experience, technical skill building and professional development. The internshipās goal is to build financial industry knowledge and skills while supporting acclimation from the military to the corporate world.
āThe military focuses on character development as much as it trains for core attributes like discipline, commitment, teamwork, and mission accomplishment. For me, these qualities translated seamlessly into the investment industry, where perseverance and collaboration are critical to uniting ideas and resources in order to make timely investment decisions. My military experience provided tools and lessons that have been invaluable to my careerāones that simply cannot be taught in business school.ā
