Biography
Chris Gudmastad is a Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of Private Credit at Loomis, Sayles & Company. He joined Loomis Sayles in 2022 and has over 20 years of investment industry experience, primarily focused on private credit. Previously, Chris was vice president and head of private credit at Securian Asset Management, where he was responsible for all aspects of the management of the firmās investment grade private credit portfolio, including the development and execution of the private credit investment strategy. Prior to this, he was vice president of private credit and alternative investments at National Life of Vermont, where he was responsible for origination, underwriting and portfolio management of the private placement portfolio, as well as co-portfolio manager of the alternative investment portfolio. Before that, Chris was the director of private fixed income at Sun Life Financial, where he managed a private placement portfolio over a wide range of industries. He has also held corporate finance roles at CapitalSource Finance LLC and M&T Bank. Chris earned a BA in economics and management from the University of Minnesota, Morris and an MBA in finance and corporate accounting from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester. He is a CFAĀ® charterholder and a member of CFA Society Minnesota.
