Biography

Alex Schober is a Sustainability Analyst at Loomis, Sayles & Company. In this role, he is responsible for liaising with the investment teams and other centralized teams about the financial materiality of sustainability and climate risks with a focus on government-related issuers. He joined Loomis Sayles in 2025 from MSCI, where he was vice president, sustainability and climate research solutions focusing on integrating sustainability and climates considerations for the sovereign debt asset class. Prior to this, Alex was an EM sovereign credit analyst at Nationwide Investments focusing on investment grade sovereign and quais-sovereign bonds in the CEEMEA region. Prior to that, he was a senior analyst at FrontierView where he was the lead economic and political analyst for Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay. Alex earned a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MA from John Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies.
