Biography

Tom O’Connell is a Portfolio Management and Implementation Services Analyst at Loomis, Sayles & Company. He has 42 years of investment industry experience and joined Loomis Sayles in 2019 as part of the firm’s acquisition of McDonnell Investment Management, where he had most recently served as a vice president and senior portfolio manager in the taxable fixed income client group. Previously, Tom was vice president and corporate bond trader at JP Morgan Securities, where he was responsible for making markets as well as maintaining and developing business with middle market accounts for secondary corporate bonds. Prior to this, he was a corporate bond trader and director at Banc One Capital Markets, where he was responsible for trading and making markets in the bank, finance, insurance and auto sectors. Previously, Tom was a government bond trader at First Chicago Capital Markets. He earned a BA in Finance from the Southern Illinois University and an MS in Information Systems from DePaul University.
